Mining: recipe for Yellowcake
Here’s the recipe for yellowcake as prepared in the Orano mill.
Start with high-grade uranium ore that has already been crushed. Leach it, oxidize it and decant it before clarifying it. Add solvents, then precipitate this mixture. The result is a yellow solution called yellowcake. Put it in an 800°C oven and bake until it is a grey powder with a uranium content of 85%. Carefully place in drums before sending it to the conversion plant of your choice
