Orano Executive Committee

The Executive Committee's aim is to set the course for the Group and ensure consistency in the implementation of decisions under the authority of the Chief Executive Officer. It provides support to the Chief Executive Officer as he leads the company and implements the strategy and general policy set out by the Board of Directors.

photo nicolas-maesNicolas MAES is the Chief Executive Officer of the group since November 15, 2023. 

Nicolas Maes began his career in 1999 with the Lafarge group. In 2006, he was appointed Director of the Cauldon cement plant in the UK. In 2009, he became Marketing Director Central Europe & CIS.
In April 2011, Nicolas Maes joined the Areva group as Director of Operations for the Mining Business Unit. On June 1, 2014, he was appointed Director of Areva's Installed Base Business Unit (now part of Framatome). From February to October 2018, he headed Framatome's Operational Excellence and digital transformation program. In these roles, he was also a member of the Executive Committee.
He joined Orano in November 2018 as Senior Executive Vice President of the Mining Business Unit and member of the Executive Committee. In May 2023, he held the position of Group Chief Operating Officer. He has been the Group Chief Executive Officer from November 2023.

Photo frederick-de-agostiniFrédéric de AGOSTINI is Senior Executive Vice President of the Nuclear Packages and Services Business Unit. He has been a member of the Group's Executive Committee since July 2016.

Frédéric de AGOSTINI spent the first part of his career in the paper industry within the Arjowiggins and LECTA groups holding various positions including R&D engineer, production manager, business manager and plant director on French sites. Frédéric de Agostini joined the Areva group in 2009 as Director of the Tricastin site before becoming Director of Operations for the Chemistry-Enrichment BU two years later. He was appointed Senior Executive Vice President of the Nuclear Packages and Services Business Unit in July of 2016.

Photo Pascal AubretPascal AUBRET has been Senior Executive Vice President, Performance since May 2023 and a member of the Group's Executive Committee since January 2017.

Pascal AUBRET began his career 20 years ago in the automotive industry with Magneti Marelli (Fiat group) where he held different functions. He was appointed Director of one of the production plants in 1998. In 2001, he joined the PSA Peugeot Citroën group as Director of Continuous Improvement within its subsidiary Faurecia. He moved to the Areva group in 2004, joining the La Hague site to head up Industrial Performance, before being appointed Director of Maintenance there in 2006. In 2008, he became Director of Operations at the Melox site, taking over as Site Director as of September 1, 2009. In January 2017, he was appointed Senior Executive Vice President of the Recycling Business Unit. In May 2023, he became Senior Executive Vice President, Performance.

Photo Patrick ChampalonePatrick CHAMPALAUNE has been Senior Executive Advisor since May 2023 and a member of the Group's Executive Committee since January 2018.

Patrick CHAMPALAUNE began his career at the PERNOD RICARD group before becoming Purchasing Director at the Lighting and Signaling Division of the VALEO group in 1993, then taking a similar role at DELSEY in 1995. He later headed Purchasing for Europe and South America within the Interior Systems Division of VISTEON, a FORD subsidiary. On August 1, 2000, he joined Areva as Purchasing Director, becoming Senior Vice President, Supply Chain in 2013. On January 1, 2018, he was appointed Performance Director of the Orano group and became Senior Executive Vice President Customers & Strategy in February 2019. In January 2022 he became Group Vice-President, Customers and Strategy. In May 2023, he was appointed Senior Executive Advisor to the Group Chief Executive Officer.

Photo David ClaverieDavid CLAVERIE is Group Chief Financial Officer. He has been a member of the Executive Committee since November 2019.

David CLAVERIE began his career in October 1994 as a senior auditor with the firm SALUSTRO REYDEL, then in 1999 became the CFO of the Belgian and French subsidiaries of GAVIN ANDERSON & COMPANY. In July 2003, he joined the Areva group as the Chief Financial Officer of the Equipment Business Unit. In January 2009, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Fuel Business Unit, and in April 2012 became the Vice-President, Cost Control and Accounting for the Group. In February 2019, he took over as Group Finance Director reporting to the Senior Executive Vice President, Finance and Legal Affairs. Since November 2019, he has been Group Chief Financial Officer and a member of Orano's Executive Committee.

Photo Helene DerrienHélène DERRIEN is Senior Executive Vice President, People & Communications. She has been a member of the Executive Committee since February 2020.

Hélène DERRIEN started her career in 1990 at Alcatel CIT Telecommunication where she held several positions over twelve years, including Regional Human Resources Vice President for Middle East and Africa. In 2003, she joined the PPR Group, subsidiary CFAO (Trading and Distribution), as Human Resources Development Manager. Two years later, Hélène was appointed HR Vice President for the Technology Business Unit of CFAO. Hélène Derrien joined Areva in 2007 and was appointed Vice President HR Management Development. From January 2011, she held the position of the Vice President HR for the Mining Business Group. In April 2013, she was appointed Senior Vice President, Executives Career Management. In July of 2016, she was appointed as Orano's Director of Managerial Development and Compensation Policy. In April 2019, she was asked to head up the Department of Industrial Relations, Social Policy and Executive HR, before being appointed Senior Executive Vice President,  People & Communications in February 2020.

Photo Guillaume DureauGuillaume DUREAU is Senior Executive Vice President of the Projects Business Unit - Director of Innovation, R&D and New Activities. He has been a member of the Group's Executive Committee since 2013. 

Guillaume DUREAU started his career in 1988 as an economist at the National Institute of Statistics & Economic Studies (INSEE). From 1992 to 2002, he worked for the French Ministry of Economy and Finance. In 2002 he began working for Areva in the role of Vice-President in charge of strategy and internal audit for Framatome ANP, before becoming Senior Vice-President in charge of Strategy and M&A for the Areva group in 2004. In 2006 he became Senior Executive Vice President of the Equipment Business Unit, while also sitting on the board of ETC, a joint Urenco and Areva subsidiary. In 2010 he was appointed CEO of ETC. Between 2013 and 2016, Guillaume Dureau was successively apointed SEVP Front End Business Group, then SEVP Back End Business Group. On July 1, 2016, Guillaume Dureau was appointed Senior Vice President, Customers, Strategy, Innovation and R&D for the Group. He has been Senior Executive Vice President of the Projects Business Unit and Director of Innovation, R&D and Nuclear medicine since February 2019. Since May 2023 he has also been in charge of the Magnets and Batteries projects.

Nicolas FERRAND is Senior Executive Vice President, Back End of the Future Program and a member of the Executive Committee since 16th September 2024.

Nicolas FERRAND began his career in 1999 at the departmental infrastructure authority for the Marne department (DDE de la Marne). After a year at the French Ministry of Infrastructure as head of the Ile de France transport office, in 2004 he joined the cabinets of the Ministers of Infrastructure and Transport, Dominique Perben and Gilles de Robien, as technical advisor.In 2007, he was appointed Managing Director of the new Etablissement public d'aménagement de Saint-Etienne (the Saint-Etienne development authority) ; then in 2012, Managing Director of urban development for the Communauté d'agglomération de Rennes Métropole, before taking over management of the Marne-la-Vallée development authorities in Ile de France in 2014.

In October 2017, he was appointed prefiguration officer for SOLIDEO (Société de Livraison des Ouvrages Olympiques) and became its Managing Director in December 2017. SOLIDEO has been in charge of delivering the 70 permanent Olympic and Paralympic structures required for the organization of the Paris 2024 Games. He joins the group Orano on the 16th September 2024. 

Photo Laurence GazagnesLaurence GAZAGNES is Senior Executive Vice President, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE). She has been also prefigurator of the future Projects Industrialization's Department since May 2023. She has been a member of the Executive Committee since January 2020.

Laurence GAZAGNES began her career at ARKEMA where she was notably Head of Unit at two upper tier Seveso sites in France. In July 2008, she joined the Areva group as Production Director of COMURHEX Pierrelatte, then was appointed Director of the FBFC Pierrelatte facility in 2012. In 2014, she became Director of Industrial Services and CEO of SOCATRI, then Technical Director of the Tricastin site. From November 2018 to January 2020, she was Head of Quality, Occupational and Nuclear Safety, Shipment Supervision and Environment within the Nuclear Packages and Services Business Unit.  From January 2020 she has been Senior Executive Vice President, Health, Safety & Environment; and Projects Industrialization from October 2023.

François LURIN has been Senior Executive Vice President of the Chemistry-Enrichment Business Unit and a member of the Executive Committee since May 2023. 

After starting his career as a financial auditor and then as a management consultant with ARTHUR ANDERSEN, François LURIN moved to BEARINGPOINT, where he became a Senior Partner. In November 2008, he joined the Group as Director of Internal Consulting, before taking up the position of Vice-President for Organization & Process Performance within the Industrial & Performance Department. In September 2013, he joined the Decommissioning & Services Business Unit as Director of the Nuclear Maintenance & Services Division and Deputy Managing Director of AMALIS. In January 2018, he took on the position of Director of Nuclear Fleet Operations for the Decommissioning & Services Business Unit, working on activities dedicated to the customer EDF. In December 2021, he was appointed Director of the Tricastin Site within the Chemistry-Enrichment Business Unit. In May 2023, he becomes Senior Executive Vice President of the Chemistry-Enrichment Business Unit. 

Jean-Christophe PATOUT is Senior Executive Vice President of the Decommissioning and Services Business Unit and a member of the Executive Committee since May 2023

Jean-Christophe PATOUT has worked for most of his professional career in the PSA PEUGEOT CITROEN group where he has held many positions in production and production support, notably in the fields of logistics and quality in the early part of his career. In 2006, he led the deployment of lean manufacturing at the Poissy site, then became the lead advisor for the PSA excellence system in Vehicle Manufacturing. From 2010 to 2012, he took over the management of the assembly plant at the Aulnay site, then in 2013 that of the Poissy site. In September 2015, he joined the Group as Senior Vice President Operational Excellence, and in July 2018 he took on the position of SVP End-of-Cycle Activities within the Decommissioning and Services Business Unit. In November 2021, he was appointed Director of Nuclear Fleet Operations for the Decommissioning & Services Business Unit. In May 2023, he becomes Senior Executive Vice President of the Decommissioning and Services Business Unit.

Photo jacques peythieuJacques PEYTHIEU has been Senior Executive Vice President Customer & Strategy since May 2023. He has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2015.

Jacques PEYTHIEU started his career in 1989 with Dow Chemical. In 1992, Jacques Peythieu joined Orano's nuclear cycle business in the Economics and Finance Department. Between 1995 and 2009, he held several positions in Group finance including Chief Financial Officer of the La Hague plant and Chief Financial Officer of the Reactors Business Group. In 2009, he was appointed Director of Strategy and Economic Development for the Mining Business Group. In 2014, he became Director of Orano China then Senior Executive Vice President of the Mining Business Unit in 2015 and Senior Executive Vice President of the Chemistry-Enrichment Business Unit in November 2018. He was appointed Senior Executive Vice President Customer & Strategy in May 2023.

Xavier SAINT MARTIN TILLET  is Senior Executive Vice President of the Mining Business Unit. He has been a member of the Group's Executive Committee since July 2023.

 

Xavier SAINT MARTIN TILLET began his career as a research engineer in Snecma's Propulsion Division, before moving on to the LAFARGE Group, now LafargeHolcim.
After initial responsibilities in production activities in France, at the La Malle and Frangey cement plants through to 2004, he moved to the Group's Internal Audit Department, first as mission leader, then as Deputy Director.
In 2007, he became Industrial Director for Lafarge's Venezuelan operations. In 2009, he was appointed Deputy Managing Director in charge of industrial activities for LAFARGE Algeria, holding this position until 2014, when he returned to France to take over the Energy Purchasing Department for the LafargeHolcim Group.In 2016, he was appointed General Manager of LafargeHolcim Côte d'Ivoire. Since 2019, he has served as LafargeHolcim's Managing Director for the West Africa region.

Corinne SPILIOS  has been Senior Executive Vice President of the Recycling Business Unit since May 2023. She has been a member of the Group's Executive Committee since February 2019.

 

Corinne SPILIOS built her career in the PSA group, where she started out in 1995 as a quality engineer. From 1998 to 2011, she held various positions at the Aulnay, Poissy, Vélizy and Rennes sites. In 2011, she became the Quality Director at the Rennes site. She managed the PSA industrial center in Mulhouse from 2014 to June 2018, joining the PSA Group Programme and Strategy Department in July 2018. She joined Orano in 2019 as Senior Executive Vice-President Performance, responsible for the Operational Excellence, Purchasing-Supply Chain, Quality, Information systems and digital transformation departements. In May 2023, she was appointed Senior Executive Vice President of the Recycling Business Unit.
