Overview

The Supervisor, Engineering will provide daily front-line supervision and advanced technical support for a team of engineers and support staff in a specific engineering specialty or function. Scope of work typically includes planning and scheduling work, supervising workflow, and adherence to budget. Supervises the execution of engineering processes, reviews progress and updates management, as needed. Provides input to, or conducts, staff appraisals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures effective performance of engineering assignments.
  • Plans and directs the timely execution of engineering activities, as assigned.
  • Ensures projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies, objectives, and customer standards.
  • Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards and procedures.
  • Monitors goals, objectives, and standards of performance for assigned team members.
  • Works interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships.
  • Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods and improvements.
  • Works on special projects, as directed.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.

 

Skills and knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple tasks and projects through subordinates.
  • Strong analytical ability and problem identification/problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Engineering organizations may have additional qualification requirements with established criterion to demonstrate success.

Ideal qualifications

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this   opportunity.  

 

  • BS in Engineering, plus 7 years related experience.
  • An advanced degree (MS or MBA) may substitute for 1-2 years and (PhD) may substitute for 2-3 years of related work experience.
  • In applicable states a PE license will be accepted in lieu of a 4 year engineering degree.

Differentiating Qualifications:

Leadership experience and experience training early career engineers.

 

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time, onsite position.
  • Occasional travel may be required for oversight of vendor sites, EPC partners, and regulatory meetings.
  • Security clearance eligibility is required.
