This exciting and innovative graduate programme is designed to develop talented individuals who will grow and potentially lead our business in the future. You will have the opportunity to work across several different business functions to gain full appreciation of the nuclear lifecycle. Each graduate is allocated a mentor over a two-year period, who will work closely with you to support the induction process and your subsequent career development. During your time as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a 2-year graduate scheme in which your employment will continue thereafter.  Your work here will have a real impact on making our world safer both for now and for future generations to come. This early exposure will equip you with the breadth of knowledge to ensure you start off with a strong footing in your career with us.

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will support the design development of decommissioning strategies, providing technical mechanical engineering expertise across the full asset life cycle and develop solutions for turnkey projects. There may be an opportunity to do secondments with other disciplines that you are interested in too. As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at Orano Limited, some of the specialist tasks you could be involved in are:

  • 3D modelling
  • 2D detail design drawings
  • Develop concept design ideas into viable solutions
  • Site visits (project dependent international travel)
  • Engineering calculations
  • Working closely with Engineers to gain valuable design development knowledge
  • Working with design codes and standards
  • IMechE support and mentoring

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will:

  • Have a degree- Min 2:1 MEng (Hons) / MSc in a Mechanical/Nuclear Engineering field.

In addition to this, you will also be:

  • Demonstrate initiative on moderate problem solving within assigned tasks.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good team player.
  • Enthusiastic and keen to learn.

Additional information

The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK.

Travel may be required on occasion between Orano offices and Client sites. This role is Permanent, Full-time and a 37- hours a week contract.

The assessment day will take place in 2025.
