Job description

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll pay an important role in maintaining and optimizing essential equipment that keeps our mining systems running smoothly. Your responsibilities will span from preventative maintenance and equipment repairs to hands-on tasks like rebuilding pumps of various sizes, bearing replacements, and fabrication. You’ll collaborate with diverse teams across departments to ensure safety and efficiency. If you are ready for an exciting challenge, we encourage you to apply!

 

Responsibilities include: 

·         Responsible for all aspects of millwright maintenance at the mine site and surrounding areas. This may include preventative maintenance work, equipment repairs and participation in developing maintenance programs.

·         Rebuilding pumps of various types and sizes

·         Removal of pumps, fans and agitators for maintenance

·         Bearing replacements, belt/sheave changes and adjustments

·         Oil Changes on equipment

·         Some occasional welding/fabricating

·         Maintain a safe and organized working environment

·         Overtime, call outs, and shift work as required

·         Other duties as assigned

·         Move and operate mining equipment

·         Work closely with other departments

·         Embrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and OE Culture

Work Location & Schedule: 

·         McClean Lake

·         14 day in/ 14 day out rotating schedule

·         Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required

·         This position requires moderate physical ability

Ideal qualifications

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

·         Must have an Interprovincial Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic ticket

o    A Journeyperson Machinist ticket considered an asset

o    Welding experience and/or a Journeyperson Welder is considered an asset

o    Heavy Duty Mechanic experience and/ Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic an asset

·         Good understanding of pumps and other mechanical equipment related to the mine operation

·         Willing to assist other trades in the completion of their duties

·         Able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions

·         Priority will be given to residents of the Saskatchewan’s North

This position is subject to pre-employment checks including education and criminal record verification. 

Drug and alcohol substance testing is a requirement for all safety sensitive positions at Orano Canada.
