Job Description:
 
TN Americas is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our office location in Columbia, MD office. 

Under limited supervision, the position reports to the Waste BL Director and is responsible for managing projects for the business line. Projects will be related to waste management, packaging, transportation and disposal; on-site operations at nuclear power plants; packaging design, licensing and fabrication; equipment handling, procedure development and training.  

Additional responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provides project leadership for major commercial design, construction, licensing and transportation projects, plus on-site operations.
  • Prepares project plans/schedules/materials to achieve project quality, reliability, cost and timing objectives.
  • Utilizes approved project management methods and processes to execute medium risk projects of existing technology and methods to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Provides primary interface between project team, management and client.
  • Develops assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project.
  • Coordinates multiple project activities including organizing and directing personnel, materials and equipment; utilizes team building skills to ensure satisfactory project performance.
  • Defines and forecasts needed skills to meet project objectives.
  • Manages cash flow and ensures attainment of expected cash position; manages revenue and cost declarations.

Qualifications (external)

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this  opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

  • BS Degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology, or similar field, plus 10-12 years of related work experience.
  • At least 5 years experience in project management.
  • Experience in handling complex projects dealing with many stakeholders located nationally and internationally. 
  • Proven experience handling fabrication of transportation packaging.
  • Proven experience working on projects serving the nuclear industry.
  • Must be adept at working in a diverse cultural setting and/or experience working for a global organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

  • Broad and deep experience in Project Management processes and practices.
  • Experience in working with different culture and countries.
  • Excellent report development and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the nuclear material transportation industry.
