Orano Corporate Finance department is a North American shared service group that deals with all of the Orano entities in North America. The group works in coordination with BU finance of all Orano entities and organizationally reports to Orano 
Job Description:
Orano US is seeking a Tax Manager II for our Lynchburg, VA and/or Washington D.C. office location.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for:

Income Tax Compliance

  • Preparation and filing of federal and state income tax returns for Orano U.S. entities.
    • 3 filing organizations
    • Parent filing as single company including six Disregarded Entity subsidiaries.
      • Federal and twenty state returns.
    • Parent filing consolidated with one subsidiary.
      • Federal and four state returns (including two consolidated state returns).
    • Single company.
      • Federal and one state return.
    • Distribute income tax information package request to Orano Finance groups.
      • Includes Form 5472/5471 reporting (for transactions with foreign affiliates).
    • Review of federal tax returns with external consultant.
    • Preparation of income tax forecasts for Orano U.S. Finance and Orano France Tax Dept.
    • Manage federal and state income tax audits.

Additional responsibilities will include the following:

  • Other Tax Compliance
  • Preparation and filing of federal Form 1042 (re: interest and royalty payments to foreign affiliate).
  • Preparation and filing of federal Form 720 (re: excise tax on health insurance plan).
  • Income Tax Accrual
  • Perform income tax accrual calculations for Orano entities (November and December hard close).
  • Submit entries for posting into local accounts.
  • Input of tax accrual data into Orano global financial reporting tool.
  • Interface with external auditors during financial statement audit.
  • Interface with Orano France Tax Dept. for global accrual/effective rate management.
  • Transfer Pricing – Responsible for technical analysis, planning, and documentation. 
  • Interface with Business Group finance to collect data and information necessary to prepare the documentation package. 
  • Interface with Orano France Tax Dept. for coordination of Orano global Transfer Pricing analysis.
  • Contract Reviews – Review tax language within proposals/contracts and provide recommendations to Finance/Project Management/Legal to limit tax risk.
  • On as-needed basis, perform research to answer questions from Orano Finance and/or Business Groups relating to sales & use tax and property tax issues and audits. 
  • Perform tax due diligence review to optimize tax structuring of acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations.
  • Account Reconciliation – Quarterly reconciliation/analysis of income tax accounts within Orano.

Qualifications (external)

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance, plus a minimum of 10 to 12 years of corporate tax experience (focus on the income tax aspect) in either a corporate tax environment or in a public accounting firm.
  • Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of accounting and finance.
  • Able to create and generate reports. 
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables. 
  • Self motivated and able to work independently.

The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

  • Knowledge of SAP/ CostPoint financial system.
  • Financial Consolidation, Reporting and Analysis experience.
  • CPA designation.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation (M.S. or equivalent) preferred.
